About Learning Pacts

The Learning Pact lets students know what you expect of them and what they can expect from you. It indicates you are a partner in their learning. In your Learning Pact:

be a warm demander. A warm demander sets high expectations for their students and believes in their ability to meet those high expectations. A warm demander convinces students that they are capable and helps them reach their potential.

set clear expectations. Assume your students know nothing about what it means to be a great college student and lay out your expectations clearly, explicitly, and with kind, encouraging language.

establish a community of learners. Help your students come together around the shared goal of learning. Supportive and trusting relationships between students will help everyone feel safe enough to learn.
